We didn’t live there. We lived in Rabat, which is the capital, for a few months. Then we moved to Port Lyautey. That was where the Naval Air Station was located. Mom was a trooper. She adjusted well. I could speak French fluently when we got back to the states. Most of my friends didn’t know much English. Living in a country where they speak a foreign language is the best way to learn. I don’t know much French now. It’s been over 65 years. ;-)
