I live in a small town in southern Wisconsin (population around 1600). I love animals, especially cats and dogs and I am known as Mom by a bunch of cats. I like gardening (both vegetables and flowers) and I like to read. I also like writing and I have published a chidren's book called Wanda Weird. It's the story of a nine-year-old girl who is bullied by some mean girls in her class and how she learns to deal with them. I work in the garden center at a Walmart in Madison, WI. In the off season, I work in back-to-school, Halloween, Christmas, etc. AKA - "Seasonal". But garden season is by far my favorite.

From yesterday’s Charliegirl asked, "So you’re “Wanda”?

I’m not exactly Wanda, but I put a lot of myself in her. In many ways, we are the same person.

By the way, we are close to having a cover picture for my second book. I just had a couple questions for my publisher and we will go from there. I like the design, but it might need a tweak or two.

For anyone who missed it, here is the information on my first book. I still need to work on my synopsis for my second book.

“Wanda Weird, Wand Weird, it’d be nice if you disappeared. . . "

It is a chant that nine-year old Wanda Weir often hears from some mean girls at school. Sometimes she wonders if they are right. Maybe she is a little weird. After all, she did spend an awful lot of time daydreaming in class. Is it really weird to spend so much time daydreaming about building a sandcastle in Florida or taking hula classes in Hawaii or marrying a boy in her class she has a secret crush on?

Is Wanda Weir really any different than other girls her age? She lives with her parents and her pesky younger brother, Kevin who is always asking riddles. She loves her family and dog and two kittens. And she would never say or do anything on purpose to hurt anyone else. So why do some of the girls bully her so much? And how do you deal with a bully?

With a little help from her best friend, Misty Baker, Wanda learns to understand why some girls are so mean. But can she find a way to deal with them?

From yesterday’s comments, Billavi said:“Behind the Green Door” sounds like a great name for a movie!"

It is the name of a book, written by Ann Andrashie, who happens to be the publisher of my first book, “Wanda Weird”. By the way, I have sent her my second book, “Let’s Get Happy – A Wanda Weir Adventure” and she LOVES it! She gave it 10 thumbs up! We’re working on getting a good cover design for it now.

Here is the information on Ann’s book.

“Behind the Green Door ~ memoir of a time traveler, is a coming of age, historical, science fiction novel set in 1892 of a young girl’s journey struggling with the dilemma of time, faith and loyalty.

Where do retired time travelers go? Orphaned at a young age, misfit Camarilla Rae Berklelman is raised in a mental institution with some very special people. When another misfortune forces her to leave, she unknowingly finds herself involved as a caregiver for someone from her past. Through their friendship she discovers her true identity and a timeline plagued with misfitted mishaps. Determined to mend her wrongs, Camarilla finds herself once again in a time and place where she does not belong.

Well then, you need to grow MORE catnip! I guess that won’t work, though. They’ll still end up using it all themselves.
